Every three years, OIYP introduces 300 young men and women, aged 18-25, from around the world to the OIYP network. Since the program began in 2000, OIYP has worked with over 850 young people, known as Action Partners, from 98 countries. 2010 will see the OIYP network grow to 1150 Action Partners working around the world.

Starting on April 18th, 2010 during National Volunteer Week and continuing through to May 9th, Volunteer Toronto and the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration will be challenging 1000 Toronto youth to ChangeTheWorld through 3 hours of volunteer service. Environmental clean-up, ribbon-making for breast cancer and aids and a number of other opportunities will be available.

In its 3rd year, the Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge is a partnership between the Ontario Volunteer Centre Network and local volunteer centres to provide high school youth with local opportunities to volunteer during National Volunteer Week and beyond. ChangeTheWorld Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge provides the opportunity for youth to begin volunteering, grow their job skills and become a part of something greater while giving back to their communities.

For Youth Initiative in partnership with City of Toronto and Toronto Community Housing invites you to "Youth Speak!!!": Closing the Service Gaps in the Criminal Justice System.

The conference aims at bringing key policy and frontline workers together with high risk youth and other stakeholders to identify the gaps that exist in the Youth Criminal Justice System.

Staying true to the theme, the keynote will be delivered by a youth who is currently incarcerated via video conference and the panel discussions will be streamed into a youth correctional facility and breakout groups will simultaneously occur in the facility as well as at the conference venue.

Offering scholarships to Protected Persons and Landed Immigrants who were Protected Persons entering first year of undergraduate programs at university or community college in Toronto.

Maytree offers a scholarship program for protected persons or landed immigrants who were protected persons, between the ages 18 and 27, entering first year of an undergraduate full-time university or community college program in Toronto. It is designed for students with a sense of civic responsibility combined with a successful academic, work and/or volunteer service record.

Students must be living on their own with no parents in Canada.

The Maytree Scholarship Program is an intensive, participatory program which provides peer and financial support.
