Step 1: Review Guidelines and Application Templates
Please review guidelines and application templates to see if you are eligible to apply for funding.
Step 2: Contact Foundation Staff
Before developing a full proposal, you can contact Ana Skinner, 416-964-3614 ext 307 or askinner@laidlawfdn.org to discuss your project idea. She will help you determine if your project is eligible and help you through the application process. You can ask staff for help in developing your proposal.
Step 3: Submitting an Application
Applications:
E-mail your proposal to Ana Skinner by 5pm on the deadline date. Drop off or Mail Twelve (12) hard copies (double-sided and stapled please) of your final application within the following 2-3 days.

You will receive a confirmation email from us within 1-2 days of receiving your application. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please follow-up with Ana at 416-964-3614 x307.
Step 4: Proposal Review
Staff will review the application and may call you if information is missing. We may contact community partners listed in your application, request a site visit, or use external advisors to review your application. All completed application packages are reviewed by an Advisory Committee made up of young people, Laidlaw Foundation Board members and community people who work with youth.
Step 5: Decision-Making
The Advisory Committee makes the final decisions on all applications. You will receive an e-mail with the final decision within a few days of the Advisory Committee's meeting. You will also receive a formal letter with the Advisory Committee's comments and decision within 3-6 weeks of the meeting.
Step 6: Evaluation & Reporting
The Foundation takes a continuous learning approach to evaluation. All grantees will be required to participate in our evaluation process. Grantees will be provided with support to help with the evaluation process.
All grantees must submit a final report upon completion of the project.
