Calico Youth Entrepreneurial Training Program
Supports at-risk youth to develop their micro business ideas.
Under the Youth Employment Strategy, Career Focus provides funding for employers to help post-secondary graduates obtain career-related work opportunities in Canada to support their development of advanced skills, to help them make career-related links to the job market, and to assist them in becoming leaders in their field.
Career Focus offers youth a range of work experiences, learning and skill-building activities to help them choose careers and to encourage them to pursue advanced studies.
The Business Development Bank of Canada is sponsoring an Internet-based national Aboriginal Youth Business Plan Competition with online modules, mentoring and business plan template for Aboriginal youth in Grades 10-12.
E-Spirit is about making a "human capital investment" that will provide the participant with valuable skills needed for today's marketplace. Assisting students today, while still in high school, gives them time and the information they require to make informed choices about their education and career paths. This program is designed to increase Aboriginal youth participants' awareness of entrepreneurial/business opportunities, management/business skills, and e-commerce and technological capacities.
Cash prizes, computers, cool Web sites and resources, a chance to meet other students online and in person, recognition and awards are just some of the features of this initiative.
Provides youth with an internship opportunity under mentor guidance in Federal Government agencies to develop employability skills and gain work experience needed to secure future employment.

Frontier College works with youth between the ages of 16-29 to provide educational opportunities. They have a Literacy and Basic Skills program, GED program and Computer Skills program. All these program are FREE.
The Independent Learning Centre (ILC) is mandated by the government of Ontario as the province's designated provider of distance education and GED Testing. The ILC offers Ontario credit courses in English and French for Grades 9 to 12, as well as the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and the GED Testing Program. In addition, the ILC has ESL courses, and a variety of student services.
ILC's credit and non-credit courses and educational services enable students to earn a high school diploma or equivalent, upgrade their skills, and achieve their academic and career goals.
The ILC's flexible and accessible courses allow students to pursue their education, their way - anytime, anywhere.
In partnership with the Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC), OJEN runs a six-week justice education program for youth living in TCHC communities. The program begins with a ‘Justice 101’ session and culminates in a mock criminal trial, where youth step into the roles of lawyers, court staff and witnesses.
Leave Out Violence (LOVE) is an award winning, not-for-profit, grass roots youth organization that is an effective means of social change, providing hope, motivation and opportunity to thousands of young people. LOVE's multi-media programs in Photography, Video, Radio Broadcasting and Journalism teach youth how to document the violence in their lives and create concrete solutions to end violence.

SmartSAVER is a non-profit community project based in Toronto that helps families learn how to start an RESP and how to get Government money for their children's education after high school.
